Peppers Mexican Grill & Cantina: Experience Authentic Mexican Cuisine in Gainesville

First time order through doordash. I got three carne asada tacos with what looked like a children's order of rice and beans. The steak quesadilla was solid and larger than I thought (Took a bite before the photo, it is split into 3). Came with tortilla chips, red and green salsa.

The food was fantastic. Rice was flavorful, the chips and salsa that they provided had the right amount of spice, the beans tasted great. As someone who loves fish, I was excited about the fajitas de marisco. Unfortunately it tasted too fishy for me which is something I have never said before. The shrimp tasted fine though. Overall, I would stick to shrimp next time. The burrito was good too. We would come back here again. Also the service was really really fast and the food was hot!

Friendly service and great atmosphere. The fajita meat was a touch over cooked, but everything was tasty, and brought to the table fast. I will go back and try other dishes.

Although a chain restaurant, this place is fun and the food is good. Free chips and salsa! Salsa is great! Service was a little slow, but an overall good experience. They offer a free shot or dessert for your birthday

Ordered the combo got a hard taco, soft taco, and a burrito. Food was very good. Although I wish I would’ve got salsa with my chips. They gave me hot sauce which is a little more important to me. Lol. Definitely check out my pictures and my video. Not trying to dog them for not giving me salsa I worked in restaurants for 20+ years shit happens! Honestly, their food is great, so definitely give them a try because I’ll definitely be ordering again!

This is one of our all time favorite Mexican restaurants! We travel to Gainesville about one a week, and this is almost always our lunch spot. We love to sit at the bar and always get exceptional service. Everything we’ve ever ordered has been amazing. My husband’s favorite it’s the Enchiladas Mexicanos, and mine is the Mexican style steak tacos. Ask for the two specialty hot sauces! We also always splurge on the top shelf margaritas, queso and guacamole!

It is always a pleasure to visit this establishment. The drinks are consistently exquisite, never failing to impress, and the music adds an authentic and welcoming touch. As a Mexican American, I truly appreciate the inclusion of traditional tunes upon entering—it enhances the overall atmosphere and pays homage to cultural roots. The food is exceptional, consistently delivering high-quality flavors without disappointment. Moreover, the restaurant demonstrates remarkable foresight and business acumen. Operating on Easter was an astute decision, as I had not anticipated it being open, yet it was bustling with activity. Despite the high demand, the staff remained efficient and dedicated, working diligently to provide excellent service. The combination of thoughtful management, hardworking individuals, and a commitment to authenticity makes this restaurant a standout choice. Each visit is a delightful experience, and I look forward to returning.

Try the Chicken Chimichanga w/Rice and Beans. Not as good as Del Carmine’s in Dade City, FL, but a close second! Service was excellent and fast, but they were not very busy at the time.
